Full set of full resolution wedding photos

By ria, December 7, 2009 7:55 pm

Our amazing wedding photographer Crissy Farah sent us a disc of all her photos. We immediately shared them through Picasa – check them out in our Photos page or watch the slideshows below. It’s hard to believe that it’s just been over 3 months. Crissy’s photos not only brought us back to the big day, but also brought back all the feelings and thoughts that were running through us that day. We’re so happy with how well things went, especially how we were able to share such a wonderful time surrounded by our family and friends. Happy Holidays!

Collecting all wedding photos!

By ria, August 30, 2009 6:55 pm

Brian and I are back in Chicago from all the wedding craziness and our mini-moon trip up the California coast. We got married!! It’s still sinking in that we are husband and wife.  Now we are trying to settle back into normal life – Brian’s busily writing two papers that are due tomorrow and I’m catching up with all the work and personal emails that have collected dust in my inbox. I’ve updated the photos page with links to photos taken by our guests during the wedding.  It’s nice to have had so many friends capturing the wedding through their different perspectives.  Brian and I were pulled in so many directions that day it was hard to soak it all in! Please keep sending us your photo links!

Wedding slideshow

By bkeegan, August 26, 2009 11:59 pm

If you couldn’t make it to the wedding or just wanted to see the amazing slideshow in its entirety again, here it is courtesy of the artist herself. I don’t think we could have paid a professional to make a video that encompassed all our favorite and most meaningful photos and songs and other emotional easter eggs to say nothing of the amazingly creative interpretation of Brian Andreas’ “Kindered Spirits” arts-n-crafts narrative to tie it all together. This Story People piece caught Ria’s eye in Santa Fe in 2008 and its irreverence and heart really spoke to both of us, so we keep a print of it in our room. I think we may have to upgrade to Maureen’s version now though! :)

We got hitched!

By ria, August 24, 2009 2:31 pm

Together with our friends and family, Brian and I finally got hitched on August 22nd, 2009!  We’re on our way up the coast of CA to take a week to unwind.  Pictures to come soon.  In the meantime, please send us your pics!  It’s been nice seeing them on Facebook, but nothing beats the full resolution pictures.  We’ll be collecting web links to albums posted online and we’ll share the links in our Photos section.  Thank you everyone for making such an amazing day possible!  Will write more soon!

Registry broken :(

By bkeegan, August 19, 2009 6:55 pm

The software we use as a backend to our wedding registry decided that now would be a great time to stop working. We’re trying to rebuild it or get an alternative service in place. We’ll let you know right here when it’s fixed.

UPDATE (08/19/2009 5pm PDT): We’re not sure we’ll be able to fix the problem given how intractable it seems and the fact that the wedding is now only a few days away. If you wanted to give us something from the registry, we suggest an old-school personal check and noting the registry item. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at roqeegan@gmail.com.

Who, what, where, huh?

By ria, August 18, 2009 6:18 pm

Only a few days now!!!  As the wedding draws ever so closer, important questions are beginning to creep up.  What time is the ceremony?  Where is the reception?  Is there parking?  We’ve posted a FAQ to help answer some of these common questions.  Please feel free to post more questions or answers by commenting on the page.

Sunny with a high of 81 degrees and low of 65

The wedding date is close enough now that we can see Aug 22nd on the 10-day forecast from weather.com!! We’re still crossing our fingers but we really hope the wedding day brings pleasant weather.  Be sure to dress light since the church does not have air conditioning and cocktail hour is in a outdoor area.  Don’t forget to pack your sunglasses!

It’s hard to believe that we’re down to the single digits to count down the days until the wedding.  The Final Countdown by Europe comes to mind.  It’s the final couuntdooowwwnnn! ;)

Engagement photos

By bkeegan, August 12, 2009 6:28 pm

Our photographer, Christine Farah, just posted some pictures from our engagement shoot in July. The shoot was near downtown LA in the Arts District to capture some of the more vibrant urban feel that was important to Ria growing up. (Of course, this probably turned out much better than the alternative of generic mass-produced suburban gated communities of Brian’s youth, which LA also has in abundance)

We got there a little early and so we ended up having some beers at this great place called Wurstkuche that had some awesome German and Belgian imported beers as well as exotic sausages (rattlesnake or alligator, anyone?) while we waited for Crissy. We ended up wandering through some back alleys and parking lots in this warehouse district which was a little bit unsettling but I think the beers helped calm our nerves and get us over the preposterousness of having our own photo shoot (Brian hadn’t practiced his Blue Steel). Crissy had a great eye for light and color as well as a generally warm and light-hearted personality that put us at ease. It was a great two hours just walking around LA together watching the sun set… with a photographer in tow documenting everything we’d be doing otherwise!

Check the engagement photos out!
